Ways for Kids to Learn to Code

Published by UCode Research on Jul 08, 2022

We’re no longer living in an era when children spend all their free time playing outside. Instead, many students find satisfaction in learning to code and using these skills to create great games, websites, mobile apps, and VR assets. It is fun and might even end up becoming their future career. So, if you’re a parent who wants to raise their children as tech-savvy experts, here are sure-fire ways for kids to learn to code

Programming for kids isn’t a new concept. There are hundreds of websites and educational courses available online that are huge advocates of teaching kids coding. .

  1. Code.org

Code.org is one of the biggest websites in the world to learn programming from a basic level all the way to advanced. It doesn’t matter how old your child is. They can be in college, high school, middle school, or even elementary; Code.org has something for everyone. The website proudly boasts that they can teach coding to kids as young as four years old. They’ve mastered the art of keeping kids engaged by throwing in elements such as Minecraft, Star Wars, and Frozen amidst their coding courses, which add a fun element to the courses. But while there are some great resources the many curricula are not coherent – you can’t really move from one to the next without learning gaps.

  1. CodeWizardsHQ

CodeWizardsHQ is another leading resource to help kids between the ages of 8-18 learn how to code. We like them because they have a strong curriculum that teaches the basics of computer science. And the courses are progressive, meaning you can move from one course to the next without “gaps”. But they are expensive and charge close to $500 for 12 classes. Really, how many families can afford $2000 a year for coding education? It’s a great program at a not-so-great price. And they are so much better than Create&Learn, Idtech, Codemonkey, or the many providers that take your money but do not tech your student to really code.

We are recognized as the place where serious students come to learn to code.  the

Closing Thoughts

It doesn’t matter if you decide to start with UCode or the other two websites that we mentioned in this article. The important part here is that you invest time and effort into helping your child develop a career in the world of programming. It truly is one of the best fields to get into, especially during the era of digitalization. So, what are you waiting for? Sign your kids up to one of the sites above today!
